The Thomas Mann Archive at ETH Zurich preserves and maintains the literary heritage of Thomas Mann. Since its foundation in 1956, it has been communicating this to scientific research and the interested public. The holdings are continuously supplemented.
When the archive was founded, the holdings of the Thomas Mann Archive consisted of the writings and documentations handed down personally by Thomas Mann, as well as the study he left behind with the personal library and objects. The holdings are constantly being expanded. As a research centre, the Thomas Mann Archive also has a comprehensive and up-to-date library of secondary literature on Thomas Mann's life, work and influence.
