The registry is open for the eighth Thomas Mann Lecture: Join us in celebrating the 100th anniversary of Thomas Mann’s ‘Der Zauberberg’ with a keynote speech by Professor Hans Ulrich Gumbrecht.  

Save the date: The next Thomas Mann Lecture is going to explore Thomas Mann's work from a perspective that has so far received little attention: his mother's Brazilian origins and her connection to slavery and colonialism.

The Thomas Mann Archive and the School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS) of the University of St.Gallen invite you to a lecture on: Reflections of a Nonpolitical Man and On the German Republic.

The fifth Thomas Mann Lecture was broadcast live from Zurich and Harvard and, for the first time, made available for listeners in German and English.

On 4 November 2020, Prof. Dr Ritchie Robertson of the University of Oxford is a guest speaker at ETH Zurich for the lecture series on Thomas Mann. He will be speaking on the topic «Aufklärung und Gegenaufklärung auf dem Zauberberg» (in German).

The head of the Thomas Mann Archives, Dr. Katrin Bedenig, and the editor for Thomas Mann at S. Fischer Verlag, Roland Spahr, will present the cooperation between Thomas Mann and the S. Fischer Verlag in a discussion on Tuesday, 20 October at 6.15 pm.

On 27 November, the third Thomas Mann Lecture at ETH Zurich was held. The lecture focussed on the visual media that Thomas Mann used very early and consciously for his public self-​portrayal as an author.

On Wednesday, 8 January 2020 at 19:15 Dr. Katrin Bedenig, Director of the Thomas Mann Archive will give a lecture on "Thomas Mann, den Nobelpreis und die Entwicklung zum Europäer".
